Ripoff Report is the “Elephant in the Room” when a web-search is conducted on 1NWContact……
1NWCONTACT IS A VERY TRANSPARENT, HONEST, FAIR AND COMMITTED COMPANY.
WE ARE COMMITTED TO OUR stakeholders: our ever expanding and changing TEAM OF AGENTS, OUR MANAGEMENT AND OUR CLIENTS.
This three legged stool of our stakeholders requires that we balance a number of competing forces…..
- our CLIENTS demand for professional behavior and high quality work,
- our MANAGERS desire for consistent application of policies and procedures; and
- our AGENTS, who are Independent Contractors, desire for a consistent opportunity to earn needed income, freedom within the scheduling rules to manage their lives outside of work, and an opportunity to be heard when they have an issue.
Not everyone is suited to work for 1NWContact. We are demanding and seek consistency and production for our clients. Sometimes there is a misunderstanding of our schedule adherence and pay policies from the very beginning of the relationship and sometimes this never gets resolved.
There are four or five opportunities for agents to understand our business rules: in the recruiting process—our recruiters are very clear; in the delivery of the Independent Contractors Agreements, which are signed by the agent and by the company, in training and on the job.
Not everyone has the discipline, talent or commitment to work in an at-home production environment. Sometimes agents quit, sometimes they are let go after multiple one-on-one coaching sessions.
We want people to be successful and happy. We have agents who have been with the company for more than 3 years. We have individuals who have moved into management after starting as a trainee agent.
MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS ARE ABOUT PAY POLICIES, WHICH ARE GONE OVER AND OVER IN THE RECRUITING, TRAINING AND CONTRACTING PROCESS. AN AGENT USUALLY HAS TO WAIT 3 WEEKS FROM THE DAY THEY START TO RECEIVE THEIR FIRST INVOICE PAYMENT. The logistics are such that we can’t guarantee faster turnaround. WE PAY WEEKLY AND A REPORT OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK AND THE PAY CALCULATION IS SENT TO EACH AGENT EVERY WEEK AND IT IS DISCUSSED WITH THEM. IF THERE IS A DISPUTE, MANAGEMENT GETS INVOLVED AND RESOLVES THE DISPUTE.
WE HAVE HUNDREDS OF SATISFIED AGENTS WHO HAVE WORKED WITH US. WE HAVE AGENTS WHO HAVE WORKED FOR US FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND WE APPRECIATE THEIR LOYALTY. WE PROMOTE FROM WITHIN AND HAVE LEADS AND MANAGERS WHO CAME UP THROUGH THE RANKS.
WE ARE MEMBERS OF PACE AND THE BBB. THERE ARE NO COMPALINTS OUTSTANDING WITH EITHER ORGANIZATION BECAUSE WE ARE PROACTIVE AND FAIR.
With this said, THERE ARE SEVERAL ENTRIES ON RIPOFF REPORT ABOUT 1NWCONTACT.
RIPOFF REPORT will arbitrate an issue for $2000! Yes $2000. And they won’t remove anything that is an OPINION, even if a company pays the $2000. What would you do??? Not pay, Right!
RIPOFF REPORT also has a special program for companies called the Corporate Advocacy Program that costs a company thousands of $$$ to setup and a significant monthly maintenance fee, for which they would essentially setup a series of competing websites, or so we are told, posting positive information, pushing their regular website onto a second or third page in a web-search.
Further, if we were to pay these substantial sums, they will setup a vetting process like the BBB has that will permit a negotiation before a negative comment is posted and essentially work through the issue in a business-like fashion and seek resolution rather allow biased unilateral rants, AND they will drop the SEO on their primary 1NWContact site, so that the RIPOFF REPORT is on the second or third page of a Google search instead of right under our entry on page1!. It is not quite that simple but that is the gist.
We have been offered this option by a sales director from Ripoff Report. We DECLINED THE OFFER!
We figure that we are in good company: lookup American Express, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, any of the cruise lines, say Carnival or Celebrity, or even the best of the best in customer care, Ritz Carlton. They all have many negative entries.
In our industry it looks like some companies have enrolled in the Corporate Advocacy Program because there are no entries and, it also looks like others, such as Arise, have chosen to ignore RIPOFF REPORT and has lots of entries.

INW CONTACT STOLE MY TIME OUT OF MY PAYCHECK IN WHICH I HAVE PROOF EVERY WEEK WHEN I WORK I COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ALL THE TIME THEY WOULD FIX IT. WHEN I REAlly stressed the issue and after 4 or five month working with them them stole some of my commision .i was told i would get 75 cents per lead if 1 haverage over 4 percent per month i did 4.2 percent i got a email saying i earned 214.50 and i got 440 lead. now that does not add up so i questioned it. i am supposed to get 330.00 for commision 440 leads at 75 cent per lead so when i got my check statment it said 194.00 for commison thats even less than what they told me i would get .so i complained for 2 wks straight. so they put the 20 bcks back on but not the total i was supposed to get 330.00. i was just so tired of fighting a company for what i hadf already worked i finnaly quit.
i was one of the highest producers on the team and whe i told them they need to fix or i would just leave they went and hired 3 people just in case i left. that showed me how much they valued me as employee for a 116.00 on my commission you rather let one of your highest producers go than pay me right and they way payroll talks to people is not acceptable for me being im 46 years old. they need to value there employees better and stop satealing their pay .all of their employees get ripped off everyday it just i keep all of the proof of mine. so if anyone wants to file a class action i will be glad to participate.
RESPONSE: This agent was a good producer! As you can see she can also be volatile. We had issues with her understanding the method of payment from the first week she was with the company. She refused to believe the system reports that she was given and refused to review the agent invoicing procedures. This went on for several weeks and she alternated between being happy here and unhappy. She had several family members and friends apply for work and some are still with us in spite of her “experience.” Just as every agent, she was paid weekly and was given a system report showing her Available Time (logged in and in a ready state) for which she then approved or disputed and she was paid upon the real system statistics from that invoice. There were many interactions about whether this was a good system of payment, from her view, but that is how this campaign was structured—not a topic of debate. And, we don’t put a person on a campaign until the compensations is discussed in the recruiting cycle, handled verbally and in writing in the group training, it is clearly described in the Independent Contractors Agreements signed and delivered through Docusign so everyone has complete and full visibility, and it is discussed when a person stats on a campaign and is reinforced in the invoice cycle from which a person is paid.

I have read the other complaints and I must admit, I have experience the same thing. That management and those that monitor you know if your not working on their automatic dealer but couldn’t seem to get it right with my pay check at the end of the week. I have complaint to management over and again nothing was ever done. Once a complaint is made about your money management and up management gets a deaf ear. This company practices deceitful tractic when it comes to their employees weekly pay checks and need to be monitor themselves.
RESPONSE: We don’t put a person on a campaign until the compensation is discussed in the recruiting cycle, handled verbally and in writing in the group training, it is clearly described in the Independent Contractors Agreements signed and delivered through Docusign so everyone has complete and full visibility, and it is discussed when a person starts on a campaign and is reinforced in the invoice cycle from which a person is paid. This is in plain view and reinforced over and over, in online meetings, on the phone, in email and in the written Contracts that people sign and have copies of archived via Docusign.

1NWContact.com is a company that offers you work from home via a virtual call center. They do offer you an hourly rate per project. What they do not tell you is that you are only paid for the time that you are actually TALKING to a client. I received a $50 check for FOUR DAYS of work because most of the profect time was spent waiting for calls to come in to me. This is not even minumum wage!! They were very unapologetic and smug when I contacted them about what I believed was my error in pay. This also explaiins why they are constantly trolling Craigslist and other sites for employees for their “new opportunities”. BEWARE!

1NW Contact is a virtual contact center company. What this means is that you can live anywhere and work for 1NW Contact; you connect to our system through the internet. We have clients that contract with us to receive inbound calls and others who contract with us to make outbound calls. Inbound agents are paid by the talk minute—it is in the contract that is sent to each agent and signed and returned before they begin work. This is an industry standard way of paying inbound because that is how companies pay us. Outbound agents are paid by the available time hour, but not for breaks. Again this is in the contract language sent to and signed by each agent before they begin work. We post the hours we need for a project and the agents on the project have the option to offer to work whatever time they want or not at all. The contract is clear and straightforward, no legal mumbo jumbo and that is why it is sent and completed and returned before any agent is given an opportunity for work. Everything is up front! The pay process is also discussed in the recruiting process and again in training. The agent invoices the company in order to be paid.

I have worked for the company for nearly a year. The pay is hourly, so long as you are logged in and ready to work, I also am paid commission on sales, so I track both hours and sales. You receive a weekly invoice detailing your sales and hours. There is no reason to have your check shorted. If the invoice does not match what you worked or sold, you should email and be prepared to show where the time or sales numbers differ. The changes are made in a timely manner, so long as you can back up your claim with real numbers. Talk time positions are not worth the time or effort.
In my experience this company is fair and the pay is very competitive.

Rip Off talks about first amendment rights…..but they do not check facts or ask for any proof. This statement by Houston, Texas simply is not true. 1NW Contact pays, at minimum, $10 per hour plus commissions on outbound programs. And what is paid is when the Associate is AVAILABLE TO TALK ( logged-in and ready to receive calls—not on pause, not on break) AND TALK TIME! So, on outbound programs, Associates are paid to talk and to wait for a call to be connected …. please call the number on our website and talk about this if you have ANY questions!

Happy employees would have no reason to be here. 1nw is trying to give good spin, But honest companies don’t receive this volume of complaints…If your thinking of working for this company, don’t. If your already working for these guys, you will be ripped of, guaranteed!!!!!!!!!!

Everything that I stated is true. I contacted your company several times in an honest attempt to fix what I thought had to be an error in pay! Shame on you for your lying cheating ways! I have “simply” told the truth.
RESPONSE: Each campaign has a different pay scale, often dictated by the nature of what our client wants us to accomplish on the call, whether it be inbound or outbound. We do offer an hourly rate on many projects. We also offer commission on many projects, not all. As has been stated, the compensation is discussed several times verbally, presented several times in writing and again when the agent submits their invoice each week. This agent not only is incorrect, he/she is misstating our very clear definition of hourly pay: we pay on minutes and seconds of Available Time. Available Time is time that the agent is logged onto our system and is in a Ready State. So if the agent pauses, takes a break, takes lunch, goes into an unpaid Status, for example after call wrap or training or meeting, they don’t get paid. It is all stated very clearly in training and in the Contracts they sign and have PDF copies of. If a person logs in and then is not available for calls we can’t deliver for our client and they don’t fit into our system. We coach people actively the first week they are on the job and try to correct behaviors like this agent displayed because it is not going to let them be successful and, surely, we can’t be successful with people who are not ready to receive calls!

2). THE CAMPAIGN THIS AGENT IS REFERRING TO IS ONE OF OUR EDU CAMPAIGNS. WE CALL PEOPLE WHO HAVE REQUESTED INFORMATION ON FURTHERING THEIR EDUCATION SOMEWHERE ON THE INTERNET. THE PROVIDER OF THE DATA HAS CERTIFIED WEBSITES WITH EXPLICIT OPT-IN PERMISSIONS. THE CAMPAIGN SCRIPT STATES THAT THEY HAVE INDICATED AN INTEREST IN FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION, WHICH IS TRUE. 1NW Contact THEY TERMINATED ME (BLESSING IN DISGUISE) Thousand Oaks, California
This company in one particular campaign I was doing is doing what I believe to be illegal. Here’s what I mean.
When I first started working for this company, it was great! I started on the “school” campaign. It was ok to explain to them how we got their information and so forth. Than it changed to where I couldn’t explain to them how we got their information.
The first few weeks working with this company was great, because I was able to rebut them. I asked if they applied online for a job. MOST of the people I contacted said they did. I rebutted them with what we were allowed to use by saying going back to school can help them get the job they’ve always wanted and so forth.
How the script was written out is that the people we contacted “supposedly” clicked yes to wanting to receive more information about going back to school. When in reality, they didn’t. The people whom I called I would explain to them that there’s usually a little pop up window about furthering their education. Most of them seen that, but they also said they clicked no on it as well.
So in my mind, whether or not these people are clicking yes or no in the pop up window, once they send that application to that job, not only is it being sent to the company they are applying for, but it’s also going to “telemarketers” to do school campaigns whether or not that person clicked yes or no in the box. To me, that is unethical for a company to even work like that.
The company terminated me because they’ve warned me several times to not try to explain to people how we got the information even if they asked. I’m sorry but I’m an honest person and I do explain to people when asked how we got their information. One of two things I KNEW was going to happen when I worked for them: either I was going to quit or they were going to terminate me.
They terminated me of course, but it was such a blessing in disguise, because my own family noticed how I was getting. I even noticed how I was getting while working. I wasn’t feeling motivated to even clock in. I was getting irritable with working for this company while working.
I’m not sure if the whole company is like this but the school campaign. If anyone is reading this and they want to put you on a school campaign: DON’T DO IT! Other campaigns I wouldn’t know about.

I worked for this company from July 20-Aug 17 2012. I had to sign a contract saying what I was to be paid for: INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR WILL BE PAID FOR THE FOLLOWING: AVAILABLE FOR CALL: This equals Talk Time + Wait Time + Wrap Time + Manual Dialing Time + Meeting time
I didn’t get paid for that! Every week my paycheck was incorrect and when I emailed Georgiann Tommasino that did our invoices and told her that they were incorrect, she told me that I was being rude, I told her that she would be rude as well if her paycheck was incorrect week after week.
I resigned after 4 weeks of incorrect paychecks. My 1st complete week was July 22-28 and she was to send me a print-out which she never did, on Aug 24 she sent me a print-out for the week of July 28-Aug 4.
When I complained about not getting paid for meetings, I was told some were paid and some were not. Most of my emails were ignored and never answered!
This is the worst company that I have ever worked for!

If this lady was so upset regarding our pay and our policies, why would she reapply? I was contacted today (via email below) by this lady who would like to begin working for our company because she knows that we are an upstanding company and we pay on time.
Hi, I was hoping that you had some opening’s for a re-hire. I know if re-hired I would be placed where needed, but if I had a choice I would love to work with Traci Ledbetter again, she was remarkable, she made me feel as though I could do anything! Also when I was working here before I had some small problems with my invoices and Georgiann Tommasino, I promise that will not be an issue this time around. I will abide by what she and five9 say that I worked!I have a new phone # where I can be reached 7am PST- 6pm PST M-F

WE PAY ON WAIT TIME AND TALK TIME WHICH IS TH SAME AS AVAILABLE TIIME. LOGGED INTO THE SYSTEM IN READY STATE WHILE THE SYSTEM IS DIALING OR THE AGENT IS TALKING TO A PROSPECT.
WE NEVER USE MANUAL DIALS, WE ARE A CALL CENTER AND HAVE DIALER BASED CALLING SYSTEMS. WE NEVER PAY FOR WRAP TIME AND THAT IS COVERED IN TRAINING AND IN THE CONTRACTS AND DURING THE INVOICING PROCESS. AND WE DON’T HAVE MANY “MEETINGS” AND MOST OF THOSE ARE SHORT AND NOT PAID. WE ALSO COACH AGENTS THAT ARE NOT DOING WELL AND THAT IS NOT PAID. THIS IS ALL COVERED IN TRAINING AND ON CONTRACTS.

Just another report on 1 nw llc. Peter and the rest of his “staff” are crooked people and you will not be paid the amount they mention during interview/training. You will wait and wait on a pay that is estimated hourly to be less then minimum wage. Dont waste your time.

I have been working for 1NW Contact for almost 1 year and the details of my pay was explained to me in detail as well as an email was sent to me upon hire regarding the terms of my first pay check. Yes, it takes 3 weeks to receive your first check with this company (like any other company that I have ever worked at but I have waited as long as 1 year to receive my first check with another company; therefore, 3 weeks was o.k. with me) If i didn’t agree with the terms, I could have walked away just like you could have. This company also has it in their Independent Contractor agreement that you will have to wait for your check. Also, they do not pay for “talk time” only, it is $10.00 per hour. I would NEVER work for a company in which I don’t receive pay or that is not 100% truthful. Before you judge, try it out and you will see that some people sit at home and have nothing more to do other than get on the internet and post lies, you ought to be ashamed for speaking non-truths.

seems funny that there are several, not just including this website, complaints that have posted the same complaints as myself about them. Instead of running around accusing people of lying about a company that has scammed 100s, maybe you should check in with accounts payable and ask…”am i being paid for talk time or an hourly rate”. do your homework first….then come talk to me. search the web,…im not the only one. unless your one of their current management, which seems to file a rebuttal claiming that they informed employees that they are “paid talk time only” on every claim made against them. Also i know several people who have worked there for 3 months and dont get paid the entire time. to put it plainly, because obviously you seem very upset about the claim, just google “1nw contacts scam” which you probably should have done before accepting a position there.
1 year and no pay!?! gullible much????

Most people sue if not paid within a reasonable time frame….It’s not logical to make hard working people worry that they will not be paid what they’re owed (in a timely manner). Should I ask my landlord if it’s okay to pay him in a year? Thought not. These delay tactics make one wonder if the company is shooting for high turnover and lack of contact so they can keep money in their own wallets. If one reads the disclaimer for five9…they make no claims that their software is 100% accurate or even close. Gee, it seems that 1nw gives the software the upper hand.
If one is dedicated enough to keep track of their own time and is “early” for each and every shift shouldn’t that mean something? Why only pay for some of the “meeting or training/coaching” at the discretion of the management. Time for arrival is dictated, break time is dicatated, lunch time is dictated….sounds a bit like employee status, eh? Being able to perform the job requires a stable managerial staff and sound business practices. The symbiotic relationship between independent contractor and business should not be twisted into grown up tug of war.
RESPONSE; IF THE AGENT WAS LOGGED INTO THE CALLING SYSTEM THEN THERE WAS A REPORT OF THEIR TIME EMAIL TO THEM FOR APPROVAL. IF IT WAS ON THE REPORT A CHECK WOULD BE PRODUCED AND MAILED TO THE ADDRESS OF RECORD. THAT IS HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS. WE PAY EVERY AGENT WEEKLY. WE DO THIS WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT 52 WEEKS A YEAR. NO ONE HAS EVER HAD TO WAIT TO BE PAID. DO AGENTS GIVE US INCORRECT ADDRESSES AND NOT GET THEIR CHECKS? YES, AND WE REPLACE THE CHECK AND FED-EX IT TO THEM. DO AGENTS LOSE THEIR CHECKS AND ASK FOR REPLACEMENTS? YES, AND WE FED-EX THE REPLACEMENTS TO THEM. ARE CHECKS LOST IN THE MAIL? YES, AND WE FED-EX THE REPLACEMENT.

I am so sick of Paying my own taxes and not being paid on time by this company, I have never worked somewhere I had to pay taxes on a job where I am the employee. Georgiann Tomasino never mails out the pay on time and when she does it’s almost always wrong. I ma fed up and looking for better employment with a company where I don’t have to take money out of my own pockets to pay their taxes for them.
RESPONSE: THE PAY POLICIES ARE EXPLAINED VERBALLY AND PROVIDED IN WRITING SEVERAL TIMES THEOUGHOUT THE RECRUITING AND TRAINING PROCESS, THE PAY AMOUNT AND FREQUENCY, WEEKLY, IS STATED CLEARLY IN THE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR AGREEMENTS. AND THE FACT THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO PAY THEIR OWN TAXES IS STATED CLEARLY FROM THE BEGINNING.
